Ormeau (pronounced by the original settlers Orm-ah after the location near their native Belfast) is a railway station on the Gold Coast Line of South East Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network.
Location
Ormeau station is located in the subub of Ormeau, 52.72 km (32.76 mi) south of Brisbane Central by rail. It is in Zone 9 of the TransLink integrated public transport system.
Service
Ormeau is served by the Gold Coast Line, an interurban regional rail line running south from Brisbane to Robina, with an extension to Varsity Lakes opening in 2010.
In the northbound (Brisbane-bound) direction, trains make stops at Loganlea and Coopers Plains and run express to the city centre, taking 53 minutes to arrive at Central station at an average of 59.7 km/h (37.1 mph).[1] During weekday peak times, many trains will make all stops to Beenleigh and then run express to the city centre.[1] Trains heading northbound continue onto the Airport Line, connecting the city to Brisbane Airport.[1]
In the southbound (Robina-bound) direction, trains stop at all stations to Robina and take 22 minutes, averaging 89.0 km/h (55.3 mph).[1]
